Our computing curriculum is designed to foster enjoyment in using technology while helping pupils recognise its potential and the many opportunities it provides for creating, organising, managing and working collaboratively.

The Teach Computing Curriculum is structured around four key strands:

• Computing systems and networks
• Programming
• Data and information
• Creating media

These themes are taught through a spiral curriculum that runs over a two-year cycle. Pupils revisit each theme regularly, encountering new units that build upon and strengthen their previous knowledge and understanding. Key elements of digital literacy have been

To further embed online safety, we make use of Project Evolve. This ensures pupils are guided through thoughtful discussions, supported by carefully chosen questions and relevant information, encouraging them to reflect, consider different perspectives and challenge any misconceptions.

Our aim is for pupils to feel confident in their digital abilities and to be equipped with transferable skills suited to future education and workplace. We also want to ensure they are prepared to act as responsible and respectful members of the online community.
